I knew the guy was going to stop even before he started slowing down (я знал, что парень остановится еще до того, как он начал замедлять скорость). It's funny how you can just know sometimes (удивительно, как ты можешь просто знать иногда; funny — забавный, смешной; странный), but anyone who's spent a lot of time hitchhiking will tell you that it happens (но любой, кто провел много времени путешествуя автостопом, скажет вам, что это случается).
