When she took in his tea she saw broken glass in the corner of the room under the concave mirror, and a golden stain that had been carelessly wiped. She called attention to it.

“That’s true (верно),” said Fearenside. “I knows that (я знаю это). And I tell ’ee what I’m thinking (я скажу тебе, что думаю = вот что я думаю; ’ee= thee— тебе, тебя, тобой). That marn’s a piebald, Teddy (этот малый пегий, Тедди; marn = man). Black here and white there — in patches (где черный, где белый — пятнами; here and there — тамисям, местами).
