Robin saw too. «My Lord the King of England, now I know you!»

Robin Hood said, «I ask your pardon, my Lord the King, for me and my men. We are your true servants. Will you pardon us?»

«Yes,» said the king. «I have been learning about you (я постоянно узнавал о тебе /что-то новое/; to learn — учиться, учить; узнавать). That is why I came here (вот почему я приехал сюда). «I'll come to London with you (я поеду в Лондон с тобой), and I'll bring a hundred men (и я приведу с собой сотню человек). But if I'm not happy there (но если мне там не понравится: «если я не буду там счастлив»; happy — счастливый, довольный), I'll have to come back to the greenwood (мне придется вернуться в зеленый лес), and shoot more of your deer (и подстрелить еще больше твоих оленей).»

Chapter 14

ROBIN HOOD IN LONDON

«Do you have any green cloth to sell me (у тебя есть зеленое сукно, чтобы продать /его/ мне)?» asked the king.

He and all his knights were soon dressed in Lincoln green (вскоре он и его рыцари были одеты в ярко-зеленые костюмы). Then the king and his knights, with Robin Hood and his merry men, went to Nottingham (после этого король и его рыцари с Робином Гудом и его славными товарищами отправились Ноттингем).

The people of Nottingham saw a great number of men in green (жители Ноттингема увидели большое количество людей в зеленом; people — народ, нация; люди, население, жители).
