The materials from the author’s excavation of the early medieval sites at the natural boundary Milozh in the Plussa river watershed are published in this article. The received materials are analyzed on the synchronous antiquities background of the same region. The Milozh sites are thought to be connected with the immigration of peoples and distribution of early phase of the ancient Russian culture (so-called Sopka culture).

This article is devoted to 1991 excavations of several sites of PLB culture in village Berezitsy surroundings, Strugi Krasnye district of Pskov region (Berezitsy I, IV and V). These barrows have been known since 1900, when N.F. Arepiev excavated a high burial mound.

The burial mounds group Berezitsy I is situated to the North-West of the village Berezitsy, on the left valley side of the river Bochitsa. The site is located in a mixed forest and consists of a number of very high mounds among others. Not less than 16 barrows amounted in the group in 1991; the 4 least damaged mounds (№7—10) were excavated.
