Maggie nodded, biting her lip (Мэгги кивнула, закусив губу). Twenty minutes into the driving lesson (двадцать минут урока вождения), and it hadn’t been going well (и все шло не очень хорошо). She engaged gear (она переключила передачу) and turned left (и повернула налево).

She’d really started to like Paul (ей действительно начал нравиться Пол; to like – нравиться, любить) and didn’t want to lose him (и /она/ не хотела его терять).
