32 Так называемые M-клетки, покрывающие пейеровы бляшки, сверху усыпаны кармашками, в каждый из которых может без труда войти несколько бактерий. Когда бактерии попадают в такой кармашек, он закрывается и перемещается, перенося своих пассажиров к углублению большего размера на противоположной, внутренней поверхности клетки, где его встречает целая ватага поджидающих иммунных клеток. Что касается буквы M в названии M-клеток, мне еще предстоит окончательно выяснить, что она означает. Быть может, это сокращение от слова mesenteric (“мезентериальный”) – широкого термина, относящегося к любым кишечным структурам?
