Техника: Османский султанат и прочие страны

Развитие артиллерийской и другой военной техники в Османском султанате начала XVI века происходит целенаправленно и систематично, на это направляются крупные материальные средства. Огнестрельное оружие распространяется среди мусульманских союзников османов в Средиземноморье и Причерноморье.

Вообще, в первые десятилетия XVI века возможности всех крупнейших военно-промышленных центров мира несколько выравниваются. Фитильные ручницы и орудия на колесных лафетах входят в вооружение всех крупнейших армий, причем далеко не все пути распространения технологии по свету шли через Европу. В дальних (от Европы) странах происходят и свои военно-технические революции, малоизвестные в европейском историческом знании. Однако темп военно-технического прогресса в Европе в течение последующих столетий окажется бо́льшим, притом систематически, чем в прочих доиндустриальных обществах.
